On Wednesday, October 23, the boys from Hondros traveled to rival Bexley to face the Lions in district semifinals. The first half was uneventful as the two teams began their clash resulting in a 0-0 score. Following this, the second half gave Academy fans plenty to talk about. Less than two minutes into the beginning of the second half, senior Ethan T. found the back of the net resulting in the Vikings first goal. Following this, sophomore Lucca Y. boosted the Vikes lead after they snuck a shot past the keeper. Just a few minutes later, senior Jake H. netted the game’s final goal resulting in a Vikings 3-0 revenge victory.

Following this game the Vikes moved on to the district finals to face St. Francis Desales. The Vikings defense and offense struggled throughout the first period as the score read 2-0 in favor of DeSales at the break. Following this the Vikings searched for answers as best they could on both offense and defense finding no success, resulting in a 5-0 victory for DeSales.

The Vikings ended with a record of 10-6-3 and look to carry this year’s success into next season. Congratulations to all of the players and coaches for their great season and dedication.
