Field hockey has been eliminated from the playoffs at the hands of Thomas Worthington, who beat the Vikes 3-0 in regional finals on Saturday, October 26, at Liberty Field. It was a slow day for the Vikes, who struggled to handle the Cardinals offensive pressure. Yet, Academy has had a stellar season, going 16-1-2 en route to a shared league title with Bishop Watterson. In its previous matchup with Worthington, the Vikes tied 0-0, thanks to the strong performance from goalie Sydney L., who blocked 40 shots- compared to Academy’s one.
CBL All Conference Awards were announced last week. Bradyn C. won the 2024 CBL Player of The Year, and head coach Jacque DeMarco won the Coach of The Year award. Bradyn, Bebe S., Sydney L., Caroline M., and Katie N. were named All Conference First Team. Katie V., Carson K., and Alex P. received Second Team All Conference honors.
Thomas Worthington will go on to face Upper Arlington in the State Quarterfinals on October 31, at home.
