On Saturday, October 19, the boys from Hondros began their postseason as they welcomed the Whitehall Rams. The game’s scoring opened right away as senior captain, Nick D., snuck a shot past the keeper for a Vikings first-period goal. The Vikings defense held strong during the remainder of the first period as the score stood at 1-0 at halftime.

The second period started in the Rams favor as they began their offensive ambush and took advantage of poor defense by the Vikes, sneaking the ball the right side of the net for a Whitehall goal resulting in a 1-1 score. Following this, the Vikings dominated the rest of the game. Two goals from junior Brain A., followed by a strong penalty by senior, Dante R., and a beautiful left-footed shot by senior Harry L. resulted in a 5-1 opening round victory for the Vikings.

The Vikes are set to play on Wednesday, October 23, as they travel to rival Bexley for a rematch and goal of advancing in tournament play.
