On Sunday, October 13, and Monday, October 14, the girls golf team brought home its third state championship in a row at Firestone Country Club. This feat comes in only its sixth-year as a program.
The Vikings took the lead after day one with a team score of 339. This gave them an 11-shot cousin over Garaway. Eva L. came in with a strong 72. Next was Caroline Z. with a 78, followed by Meera S. with a 92. Rounding out the scoring were Rosemary J. and Claire Z. with a pair of 97’s.
On day two, the girls embraced the cold, rainy conditions to close out a 27-stroke victory over second- place team, Madeira. Eva L. led again, firing a one over par, 71. This was good enough to secure her as the individual champion of the state. Following next were Caroline Z. with an 80 and Meera S. with an 85. After that, were Rosemary J. with a 93, and Claire Z. with a 97. This brought the day two tallie to a 329, and a total score to 668. Congratulations to the girls on such an outstanding achievement and another unbelievable season.
