On Tuesday, October 1, the boys varsity soccer team traveled to Worthington Christian to face the Warriors. The game started fast with the Warriors jumping out to an early lead. Worthington Christian’s offense was clicking on all cylinders as it followed the first goal with three more and a 4-0 lead by halftime. To get back into the game, the Vikes needed to step it up on both sides of the ball. The Vikings picked it up in the beginning stages of the second period. Senior Captain Nick D. launched a floater to the middle of the goal and past the outstretched arms of the keeper and into the back of the net for a Vikings goal. Following the Vikings goal, the Warriors matched quickly  and the score read 5-1. The Vikes added one final goal to the tally resulting in a 5-2 win for the Warriors.

On Saturday, October 5, the Buckeye Valley Barons traveled to Hondros to take on Academy. Prior to the game, the Vikes celebrated Senior Night to honor its 13 senior players and their parents for their dedication to the program. This game marked the regular season finale for both teams. As the game began, both defenses held strong during the first period with neither team being notching their name into the scoring column. The second half began in a 0-0 battle, withboth teams were looking to capitalize on their offensive chances. Late in the second period, the Vikings finally got an opportunity and slid the lone goal of the game past the Barons keeper for 1-0 senior day victory.

The Vikings finished with a 10-5-3 regular season record and will look to continue their success as the team enters the postseason.
