The boys varsity soccer team returned to action on Thursday, September 18, as it traveled to Grandview Heights to face the Bobcats. Both teams entered the game considered as two of the top teams in the CBL so this game came with high stakes. As the game began the Bobcats offense surged onto the scene putting lots of pressure on the Vikings defense. The Vikings defense held firm for a majority of the first period until Grandview snuck a goal past the Vikings defense. At halftime the score read 1-0 with the Bobcats leading. To begin the second period the Vikes began finding success on the offensive side of the ball as senior Patrick F. launched a shot on goal past the keeper, notching the score at 1-1. The Vikings attack didn’t end there as sophomore Lucca Y., added to the Vikings score with little time on the clock resulting in a  2-1 victory for the Vikings.

Later that week on Saturday, September 21, the Vikings traveled to Granville to face the Blue Aces. The game started in favor of Granville as their offense was clicking and ended in two first period goals. The Vikings, however, could not generate anything on offense. As halftime approached the score read 2-0 with the Blue Aces ahead. The second period was not much different as both teams added one goal to their scores resulting in 3-1 loss for the Vikings. The Viking now stand at 8-4-2 on the season.

The Vikings will travel to Tree of Life on Monday, September 23, to face the Trojans.
