Girls Tennis Achieves a 12-1 Record

Girls tennis kicked off its busy week with a win against Dublin Jerome on Monday, September 9, at home. The team also bested the Bexley Lions in its next match on Tuesday, September 10, away. The Vikings moved on to win against Olentangy away on Wednesday, September 11, and also defeated Worthington Christian Thursday September 12, at home. 

In the game against Dublin Jerome, the Vikings won 4-1 with Tamanna A. defeating her matchup 6-0, 6-2 in first singles. Audrey L. also won 6-2, 6-2 in third singles. Mary P. and Sophie W. won with a score of 6-0, 7-6 in first doubles, and Mary and Lara W. won 6-0, 6-3 in second doubles. Gabrielle S. fell 6-3, 0-0 to her opponent in second singles.

The Vikings crushed the Lions 5-0, with Ella T. and Tamanna winning 6-0, 6-0 in first and second singles. Additionally, Audrey bested her matchup 6-0, 6-1 in third singles. First doubles team Gabrielle and Sophie won 6-3, 6-3 and Mary and Lara earned a score of 6-3, 7-6 in second doubles. 

Girls tennis gained another 5-0 win as they moved on to play Olentangy. Tamanna and Gabrielle dominated 6-0, 6-0 as well as doubles teams Ella and Sophie and Mary and Lara. Audrey triumphed over her opponent 6-3, 6-3. 

Finishing the week strong, the team moved on to defeat Worthington Christian 4-1. Ella earned a perfect score of 6-0, 6-0 in first singles and Tamanna achieved a near perfect score of 6-1, 6-0 in second singles. Gabrielle also won in third singles 6-3, 6-3. Mary and Sophie won 6-3, 6-0 in first doubles, and Ela K. and Lara fell 6-3, 0-6, 1-0 in a tight match against their opponents in second doubles.

The teams next game is away on Tuesday, September 17, against Buckeye Valley.
