The Great Book Giveaway was back on Thursday, August 29 in the entrance to the Dining Hall. This is an event hosted by the Upper School Library where books that are old or not regularly used are selected to be given away to the Columbus Academy community. Since our library is on the smaller side, this event is essential to keep our selection of literature up-to-date. It is a tradition that started before Upper School librarian, Ms. Popelka, joined Academy.

This year about 150 fiction pieces and a small selection of non-fiction books were up for grabs. Ms. Popelka said, “I’ll put a big cart out in front of the Dining Hall, and it’s first-come first-serve.” 

Most of the books were selected. If you missed out, there will be another giveaway in the late spring.
