Boys golf started off the weekend strong, finishing second at the CBL Invitational #Two with a team score of 315. Jaxon C. led the team with a 77, followed closely by Jack W.’s 78. Gavin M. and Alex S. both shot 80, while Ethan B. and Sarthak A. trailed behind shooting 81 and 88, respectively. The bottom two scores did not count for the Vikes as Buckeye Valley dominated the tournament, with a team score of 300. The Barons, led by Sam R., went two-under for a 70. Worthington Christian was three strokes behind the Vikes, placing third, and Bexley finished last at 329.

The boys were back at it on Sunday for the Muirfield Invite. This course is considered one of the most difficult courses in the world, and Academy’s scores reflected it. The Vikings came in dead last, shooting a combined score of 63 over par. Gavin finished first on the team with a 79, followed by an 84 from Alex. Ethan and Jack both had rough days, shooting 93 and 95 respectively. Jaxon shot a 99, so his score was not included in the final count. Upper Arlington placed first, with a combined score of 19 over par. The Bears, led by Mitchell S., finished with a 73.

The Vikes have the chance to redeem themselves on Tuesday, August 27, when they host Westerville Central at the Columbus Country Club.
