On Saturday, August 24, our girls cross country team placed seventh out of 15 teams in the Silver 5000m at Pickerington North. 137 runners competed in the event. Other runners were from Fairless, Newark, Tuscarawas, Unioto, Waverly, and Westerville South.

Clara S. claimed 19th with a time of 22.34. Miranda B. placed 26th at 23.24. Melanie Q. finished in 33rd in 23.42. 

Miranda B., Sophie L., Clara S., and Melanie Q. received medals.

Junior Miranda B. said, “The girls had a great first race of the season, despite the heat! Coach Chris Mealick told us to take this meet as an opportunity to experiment and figure out how we want to race this season.”

The girls next meet is at Highland on Saturday, August 31, 8:45 a.m.
