Varsity baseball lost four games from Monday, May 6, to Sunday, May 12, bringing the season’ record to 10-16.
The Vikings hosted Sheridan on Tuesday, May 7, losing 2-4. Academy scored first in the bottom of the 4th, but the Generals scored twice in the top of the 5th and never relinquished the lead.
The Vikes traveled to Olentangy Orange on Wednesday, May 8, receiving a 1-6 blowout loss. They jumped on the scoreboard in the top of the 1st with a run from Theo F.; however, the Pioneers tied it up in the bottom of the 2nd and then surged with four runs in the bottom of the 4th.
Hosting Johnstown-Monroe on Friday, May 10, Academy lost a defensive 1-2. The Johnnies took an early lead 2-0 in the top of the 2nd, yet CA failed to muster anything substantial at bat. The team only achieved 3 hits, with the sole run coming from Anthony P. in the bottom of the 5th.
Academy lost a faster-paced game on Saturday, May 11, succumbing 5-11 while hosting East Knox. The final two innings were Academy’s downfall: the Bulldogs scored 6 in the top of the 6th and 3 in the 7th.
Playoffs start at home on May 13 against Harvest Prep at 5 p.m.
