The Aquavikes competed against Gahanna Lincoln, Granville, and Pickerington Central at New Albany on Saturday, January 20. The girls captured 5 golds and silvers each, while the boys secured 7 golds and 2 silvers.
On the girls side, Lillian B. finished first in the 50 free and 500 free with times of 25.65 and 5:31.63, respectively. Olivia L. also tallied individual firsts, one in the 200 IM (2:16.17) and another in the 100 breast (1:13.47). The duo returned with Maddie E. and Ella L. to form the podium-finishing relay squads. They captured gold and silver in the 200 free and 200 medley relays, placing first and second in 1:41.71 and 1:56.17, respectively. Maddie E. took second place in the 50 free (25.97) and 500 free (5:38.19), and Ella and Morgan S. brought home the final two silvers in the 100 back (1:06.78) and 100 free (58.63).
The boys found similar successes: Mircea B., William D., William H., and Andy L. formed the winning 200 medley and 200 free relays, finishing in 1:42.53 and 1:33.27, respectively. William H. claimed two individual golds and one silver in the 50 free (22.58), 100 fly (55.79), and 50 free (24.17). In the 100 free and 100 back, Andy nabbed first in 49.33 and 56.08. William D. placed first in the 100 free (1:03.62), with Mircea a close second in 1:07.56.
With another successful week behind them, the Aquavikes will return for Senior Night on Tuesday, January 23, and compete in the Central Buckeye League Championship at Columbus School for Girls on Saturday, January 27.
