The boys basketball team claimed two major conference wins this past week to move them into first place in the Central Buckeye League. They also improved to 16 in MaxPrep’s Ohio Division III rankings.
The boys opened the week on Tuesday with a highly anticipated match-up against rival Worthington Christian. The Warriors, led by senior Samuel J., were 10-3 going into this game. It was a close contest, but the Vikes pulled away and beat the Warriors 52-44, thereby propelling them to first in the league.
The team returned to action on Saturday when they welcomed Whitehall to The Mack. Whitehall has struggled so far this year and currently sits in last place in the conference. The Rams came ready to play but were no match for the Vikings strong performance, in which all five starters scored double digits.
The Vikes travel to Bexley to take on the Lions on January 26 at 7:30 p.m.
