Girls basketball hosted Columbus International on Monday, December 11, and Columbus School for Girls on Friday, December 15, collecting two wins.
During the first game, Adaugo N. was the team’s highest scorer, contributing 13 points with six successful out of eight attempted field goals and one free throw. Kyndal S. and Morgan S. tallied 10 points apiece, each attempting seven field goals and making five. Alison C., Eleanor S., Abby S., and Kendall O. each made a three-pointer. The Vikings were up 41-12 at the half and secured an easy 69-30 win against the Lions.
Carrying the winning spirit to face the Unicorns four days later, the Vikings edged out Columbus School for Girls 47-35. Despite lagging behind 6-10 in the first quarter, the girls scored twelve points to the Unicorn’s 6 in the second quarter, pulling them ahead 18-16. They continued with the momentum, adding 13 and 16 points in the third and fourth quarters to tally another win. Lead scorer Kendall contributed 17 points, while Allison F. added 11. Successful three-pointers came from Alison, Eleanor, and Abby.
The girls rebounded after suffering three losses in the previous week, and they hope to tally another win against Horizon Science Academy on Friday, December 22 in the Mack.
