Another Win for Boys Golf

On August 29, golf’s varsity squad beat Bloom Carroll as sophomore Jack W. set the standard with a 39, followed by Gavin M.’s 40, Rowen L.’s  42, and the final three of Ethan B., Matthew F., Alex S. with 43. 

On September 2, the boys played in the Bob Darwin Invitational hosted by Bexley in Westchester. The Vikes total score of 316 put them in 4th place behind first place DeSales with 286. Matthew F. scored lowest with 70, with Rowen at 79, followed by Jack and Alex with 80 and 87 respectively. James L. wrapped the match up up with 91.

On September 12, the team trekked to the Columbus Country Club to play Worthington Christian. Departing from a standard match, the teams played in a scramble stroke play format. Both sides competed in groups of 2 and took the best shots out of each shot, with varsity and JV combined in play.The boys won by 3 strokes 213-216 with the varsity pairings of Gavin M. and Alex.S; Jack W. and Ethan B. and Matthew F. and Rowen L., shooting 34, 32, and 33 respectively. The JV duos of Dillin G. and Nico M., Gavin H. and Sarthak A., and Jaxon shot 40, 38, and 36. This was the final CBL tournament of the season. They held 3 previous ones this season and won all of them, two in pre season, one mid-season, and now they will  try to win their 4thin a row in the postseason CBL.
