Taking on St. Francis DeSales last Thursday, January 17, the Academy boys’ bowling crew fell to the Stallions 1718-1800. Sophomore Aaron Brown led his fellow teammates in performance, scoring a high of 324 points while Victor Liu ’13, closely following Brown, racked up 279.
Coach Dan Olexio gives a few words on Academy’s performance: “Both teams bowled under their normal averages. The lanes seemed to be oiled differently, which really affected our scores. DeSales gave us some chances to get back into the match after we fell behind early, but we didn’t capitalize on them.”
Now with an 8-3 record, the Vikings have placed themselves fourth in the Central Ohio Bowling Conference, behind such teams as Bishop Ready and Brookhaven. This Wednesday, January 23, hoping to ramp up outcomes, Academy celebrates its senior night with a battle against Brookhaven. The match begins at 4:00 PM.
