Have you noticed 60 envelopes adorning the cupboard doors across from Mr. Thompson’s office? Upon further inspection, you will notice the names of US faculty members addressed under the flaps: Faculty Staff Appreciation Day. FSAD is approaching, so it’s time to help stuff these white mailers with note cards, expressing your gratitude for the countless ways the CA faculty and staff have helped you grow in so many ways.
Around 1984, when the federal government declared the Tuesday of the first full week of May as National Teacher Appreciation Day, Service Club (precursor to Service Board) also dedicated a day to recognize its faculty. CA’s day of gratitude expanded to include all staff under SB leaders Ryan K. and Alice G. in 2002.
While the designated month and the type of celebration has evolved over the years, the motivation driving FSAD remains unchanged: to acknowledge the 241 members of the CA community who work tirelessly on behalf of the students.
Last year’s FSAD team added notes handwritten by MS students. Thanks to this year’s FSAD team of Justin A., Eva B., Eliza F., and Jack Y.
It’s not too late to make your contribution to FSAD Day!
