Academy improved its record in a thrilling overtime 51-49 victory against KIPP Columbus on Tuesday, December 6. The Vikings established an early lead, closing the first quarter 12-7. KIPP Columbus, however, fought back throughout the game and went into the final quarter, 26-28. The Vikings rallied, and the game went into overtime tied 40-40. MJ J. and Theo F. lead the team throughout the game, scoring 15 and 10 points respectively. Academy surged in overtime and closed out the game with a Viking win. 

Academy won its fifth sequential game on Friday, December 9, defeating Grandview Heights, 44-32. The first quarter saw equal play on both sides, ending in a tied 6-6. Academy clinched a lead to close the half at 15-18. The Vikes closed out the final half with a solid win, netting a 5-0 record.

Academy plays Wellington at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 17.
