Following a win against Hudson which put the team’s record to 7-4-1, the Vikes played at Granville on Wednesday, October 13 and pulled away from the Blue Aces with a 2-0 win.
Then on Thursday, October 14, Academy closed out the regular season at Worthington Kilbourne and came away with a 1-0 win, with the lone goal scored by Avery Mitchell, ending the regular season 9-4-1.
Both wins give the Vikes some momentum heading into the playoffs, which begin at home against Dublin Jerome on Wednesday, October 20. On the squad’s route to the state semifinals, Academy could inevitably face Upper Arlington or Thomas Worthington, two tough teams the Vikes couldn’t beat in the regular season.
