Our baseball team shined in district semifinals with a 10-0 victory versus Northmor, yet ended its season at districts on Wednesday, May 26 districts, losing 0-4 to Liberty Union.
Winning districts in doubles, seniors Jack Madison and Arie Tuckerman secured second at states in doubles at the Lindner Family Tennis Center on Saturday, May 29, with team earning a 3rd place spot.
In boys track, the team secured fifth out of 14 teams at districts on May 18-22. Our girls earned tenth out of 19. At regionals on May 26-27 at Lexington, the boys placed 14 out of 40 teams, and the girls came in at 31 out of 38. Seniors Luke Nester and Regan Cornelius head to states on June 4- 5 at Pickerington North. Nester secured first place in the mile and third in the two mile. Cornelius came in third in the two-mile, with a finish of 11:25.88: a school record.
After losing to Bishop Watterson in the regional quarterfinals, on May 24, Junior Zach White finished the season earning the most points of any high school player in Ohio, securing 155 points from 90 goals and 65 assists. White also earned 1st Team All-Region, Position Player of the Year, and Region 7 Player of the Year. Coach Derek Lichtfuss received Region 7 Coach of the Year. Our boys had another 6 all-region selections with Henry Rubey’22 in the 1st-Team, Vassar Barney’21, Jake Carlin’22, and Charlie Stoner’22 in the 2nd-Team, and Drake Bellisari’22 and Chris Sugar’21 as Honorable Mentions.
Knocked out by Bishop Watterson 9-12 in the regional quarterfinals, the girls lacrosse season came to a close on Saturday, May 22. The girls had 12 all-league selections with Evie Gee’22, Avery Mitchell’22, and Suzy L’Hommedieu’21 in the 1st-Team–and Charlotte Adams’21, Sarah Klingerman’21, Sophia MacDonald’22, Ashley Reynolds’21, Emma Reynolds’24, and Emma Yakam’22 in the 2nd-Team– and Claudia Klingbeil’22, Sofia Slootsky’23, and Carolyn Vaziri’22 earning Honorable Mentions.
