Netflix’s Ginny and Georgia exploded on the internet immediately after its release. This Gilmore Girls meets Desperate Housewives combo has developed a bad reputation from its cringe-worthy and controversial dialogue.

The series follows a young mom, Georgia (Brianne Howey), and her teenage daughter Ginny (Antonia Gentry) as they move to a town in Massachusetts. 

What at first seems like a show about a mother and daughter relationship soon takes a dark turn as  scenes uncover Georgia’s checkered past, making it an addictive watch from start to finish.

Even with the dramatic plot, the writing and dialogue seem out of place. The series’ writers have no idea about today’s teenagers and their lingo, and this disconnect makes the show less relatable.

Slammed for an inappropriate joke about Taylor Swift (who took to Twitter with outrage), Ginny and Georgia’s ratings have since plummeted.

The show has been #1 steadily since Netflix featured the series on February 24, 2021.

The TV-14 show has 10 episodes, each running around 55 minutes. Please note there is some mature content before watching.
