On Saturday, October 17, our boys cross country team raced hard to snag the MSL runner-up title at Buckeye Valley High School. On the challenging course, our boys ran through gravel, mulch, mud, and trees to rack up 50 points, only 15 behind first-place Bexley.
Senior Luke Nester led the way for the Vikings, racing to a 16:38.1 to become the individual league runner-up. Senior Jake Huddleston also finished in the top 5, running a 17:41.1 and out-sprinting an opponent in the homestretch for a 4th place finish. Seniors Cooper Schnitzer, Calvin Wade, and junior Cy Richardson rounded out the top 5 with their sub-19 minute times of 18:37.2, 18:47.7, and 18:52.6 to secure 13th, 15th, and 16th.
Our boys will look for personal bests on Saturday, October 24, at the District meet at Hilliard Darby High School. There, our boys must finish in the top 3 teams or 12 individuals to move on to Regionals, the final race before States.
