For the Vikings who want to help our school and community, Service Board has many activities planned for this and the following weeks.
Tidy Up Tuesday is back! This time it will be held during Block 5 on Tuesday, October 13. Please sign up on the posted sheet outside the Service Office, next to Dr. Losambe’s office.
If you need a break on PSAT Day (Wednesday, October 14th), there are two ways you can help. After the PSAT, 20 lucky students can create and deliver hosting boxes for the upcoming Food Drive. Find a friend and secure your spots on the sign up sheet hanging outside of the SHACK.
If you’re at least 16 years old, meet the minimum height and weight requirements, receive your parent’s permission, and can find a ride to the Mount Carmel Surgical Hospital in New Albany, consider donating blood anytime from 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. According to the Red Cross, there’s a blood shortage right now because every 2 seconds an American needs blood.
The following day, Thursday October 15, there is a blood drive less than 10 minutes from school. Mifflin Presbyterian Church in Gahanna will be accepting donations until 4pm that day. One hour of your time can save up to three lives.
Next week CA’s Food Drive runs from Wednesday October 21 -28. Everyone is encouraged to bring at least two (shelf-type) staple food items. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and holiday meal items are appreciated. Deposit your donations in the hosting boxes found in advisory rooms.
Keep serving during these difficult times! (Lauren Motta, Service Board President)
