Besides wearing your Viking spirit wear, another way to show your Academy pride is toserve as a Student Tour Guide. No prior experience or training are required, and you will be receive school service hours.

The Admissions Office needs enthusiastic and involved upper school students to show our awesome facilities and to share your Academy experiences. Because the Shadow Day has become virtual, due to COVID, student tour guides may be the only in-person interaction prospective families have with upper schoolers. You can talk about your favorite teachers, classes, school events and ask the families about their students’ interests. Places you could visit include the new Field House, the pool, our gyms, the theater, art spaces and gallery, library and dining hall.

Lindsay Sutherland’22 and Colin Harrison’23 have conducted tours and want do more.Tour  Lindsay said she felt pleased with herself after  answering expalining why she enrolled in Academy.” Colin enjoyed telling families “about a place that has been a massive part of my life and given me many opportunities” and using “a key that could open all the doors.” He also said, “It doesn’t feel like work.”

Don’t worry if you can’t answer every question visiting families have. Mr. Wuorinen or Ms. Keeran from Admissions will meet you and finish the tour.

Tours are given to prospective families on weekdays from 4 p.m. – 5:15 p.m. and from 5:15 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. To serve as a student tour guide, please submit the Google form in Mr. Wuorinen’s email from last week.
