Our girls tennis team picked up two big victories against Upper Arlington and Worthington Christian, setting 11-1 record.
The Vikings competed at Upper Arlington on Monday, September 21 and defeated the Golden Bears with a 4-1 victory. Sydni Ratliff’21 kicked off the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win at first singles, with Carolyn Tsung’21 close behind at second singles and a 6-3, 6-1 record. Lauren Motta’21 finished the singles bracket, winning 7-5, 6-0 at third singles. Playing first doubles, Anna Chang’23 and Grace Philip’24 were edged out 1-6, 3-6, but Yasmin Bilgin’24 and Arya Chabria’24 brought home the win at second doubles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
The Vikes hosted Worthington Christian on Thursday, September 24. Ratliff steamrolled her opponent 6-0, 6-0 at first singles, while Philip and Chabria followed with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second and third singles, respectively. Motta and Tsung overwhelmed their competitors at first doubles, winning 6-1, 6-2, as Chang and Bilgin finished the matches with a 6-0, 6-0 record at second doubles.
The Vikings will host Olentangy on Wednesday, September 30, before facing Wellington at home on Thursday, October 1.
