On January 31 and February 1, the Middle School presented its annual musical, this year featuring Disney’s Beauty and the Beast Jr., directed by Mrs. Whitney Eads and assistant director, Mrs. Stacey Nockowitz. Alaina West ‘24 and Matthew Fang ‘24 played Belle and the Beast, respectively, and brought their roles to life with dynamic acting and singing.

The students performed many popular Disney songs, such as “Be Our Guest,” “Belle,” and “Beauty and the Beast.” Costuming by Mrs. Jaylene Jennings made Belle’s famous yellow dress the spitting image of the dress in the movie.

Mr. Scott Dillon’s set featured running water, animatronic deer heads that moved, confetti cannons, and smoke that appeared as the Beast became human. These special effects made the show a magical experience.

Make sure to congratulate fellow Vikings for working hard and a job well done, and look out for next year’s musical, which will be announced in the spring.
