On January 15, our Morris Hall Gallery featured its first Faculty and Staff Show since the 1980’s. This exhibition is the collective idea of the Fine Arts Department.
No specified themes were required, allowing room for plenty of creativity. Thus, our art gallery feature distinct pieces that are of varying timestamps and mediums, including ceramics and acrylic painting, with representation from all three divisions of the school.
Long-time Upper School art teacher, David Block, is pleased with the final outcome. Block hopes that the current showcase will “encourage more faculty and staff members to send in a submission next time.” The Fine Arts Department is “open to everything. After all, art is whatever you want to see in it,” says Block.
Given its recent success and positive feedback, the exhibition will likely return in subsequent years.
If you are looking to unwind during the busy school day, consider stopping by the gallery to see the work that our faculty and staff have produced before the show concludes on February 25.
On March 2, the Gallery will feature its first Math Meets Art Exhibition, followed by our annual Senior Art Show in April.
