Academy’s cross country team ran through cool temperatures on Saturday, October 12, to kick off postseason at the MSL Ohio meet at Buckeye Valley.

Our boys varsity team placed 3rd out of 7 teams with a score of 66 and a team average of 18:14. Junior Luke Nester placed 3rd, clocking in at 16:56 with Charlie Sabgir’20 not far behind in 5th in 17:35. Junior Calvin Wade and Alex O’Connor’20 both raced sub 19 minutes, contributing to the team’s placement, while Peter Heermann’22, Cyrus Richardson’22, and Jake Huddleston’21 all completed the race in under 20 minutes.

Our girls varsity team placing 4th out of 6 teams, with a 109 and a team average of 23:30. Senior Annalise Grammel clocked in at 20:03, placing 3rd overall. Junior standout Regan Cornelius was right on her heels, finishing with in20:21 and placing sixth. Madeline Proctor’22, Whitney Hannallah’20, Janet Li’22, and Rachel Raque’20 all finishing sub 29 minutes.

The team heads to districts, which will be hosted by Hilliard Darby on Saturday, October 19.
