Academy’s girls soccer team continued its momentum into this week, earning a win and a tie. The first match was at home on Wednesday, September 10, against Bishop Hartley. Our Vikes countered the Hawks’ impressive squad with a strong, energetic effort. Sophie Spolter’22 continued to impress with a trio of saves in goal, while junior Olivia Archibald scored in her second straight game, and Evie Gee’22 also knocked one in to grab the Vikes a 2-2 tie.

On Saturday, September 14, the Vikes returned to their winning ways against Bishop Rosecrans. Katie Schiano’21 scored the lone goal of the game, securing our girls a 1-0 win. The Vikes put on a defensive clinic the whole night, visibly frustrating the Bishops.

Next up for this stellar squadron is a Monday, September 16 game at Johnstown-Monroe, followed by a Saturday, September 21, bout with West Liberty Salem at home.
