On Wednesday, February 23, Ali Mozenter’09 met with upper school students during one of Academy’s Alumni Lunch Career Forums to talk about her years of volunteer experience with MDA, an organization that supports and inspires children and adults affected by muscle dystrophy.
Ali began volunteering as an MDA counselor and assistant cabin leader when she was a high school student at Academy. Inspired by her experience, she majored in psychology that centered on childhood development and minored in marketing at Miami University. In 2015, Ali began her work for Coumbus’s MDA chapter as it Fundraising Coordinator. Last year, she was promoted to Director of Business Development.
Ali encouraged adults (18 and up) to volunteer with MDA, especially at the week-long summer camp in Ashley, Ohio. MDA camp offers various activities, including zip-lining, horseback riding, a karaoke and casino night, and a camp-wide dance.
