COSI: Hot Wheels, Poison, and More

COSI’s new Hot Wheels exhibit. (Carolyn Zhang’20)

Following COSI’s annual two-week closure, the museum opened to the public once again on September 22, with a new exhibit and different movies for guests to enjoy.

From now until January 6, 2019, COSI is hosting a Hot Wheels exhibit, produced by The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and Mattel. The exhibit is divided into four zones: design, power, speed, and safety. As guests progress through the individual zones, they will have the opportunity to simulate building and testing the world’s fastest racers by experimenting with Hot Wheels diecast cars.

Also, coming soon to COSI is another temporary exhibit, The Power of Poison, organized by its partner, the American Museum of Natural History. The exhibit will run from October 20, 2018-January 13, 2019, and will allow visitors to examine the different kinds of poisons found in nature and learn about ways in which poison is being used in the development of potentially, life-saving drugs.

Now showing until October 26 in the National Geographic Giant Screen Theater are two movies, Incredible Predators and Oceans: Our Blue Planet, which COSI decided to bring back from earlier this year. Both films capture the essence of the natural world in visually stunning footage.

COSI also offers engaging planetarium and live shows, including one where rats play basketball in exchange for treats. COSI  has something for everyone for an exciting, fun-filled day.
