With a September 25 victory at Oakhaven Golf Club, Academy’s boys won sectionals even as the horrid weather continued, causing a one hour delay. But rain didn’t stop the squad. The team shot 314 collectively.
Ali Khan’20 continued to show his skills, leading the team again with a score of 76. Griffin Mitchell’20 shot 78, with fellow juniors Matthew Cammeyer and Kahmar Byers shooting 80.
Our Vikings then traveled to the Hickory Hills Country Club for a battle against 19 of the best teams in Ohio in the Jerome Invitational. CA shot 306 and came away with an exceptional 4th place out of 20.
Khan shot a solid 74 with Mitchell pulling in a 75. Byers shot a 78, and freshman Russell Ahmed made himself known with a score of 80.
The team’s schedule really heats up next week with a bout at the OHSAA district tourney on Wednesday, October 3.
