The Academy girls track team traveled to Fairfield Union for the regional meet on Wednesday, May 23 and Friday, May 25, and took third out of fifty teams.
The Vikings continued their brilliant postseason campaign, qualifying for states in four different events. Junior Sammie Kass, senior Muriel Goldfarb, sophomore Annalise Grammel, and freshman Hannah Clay zoomed around the track to earn their second consecutive 4×400 victory. The 4×200 team, featuring Clay, Kass, Goldfarb, and senior Bri Dragin, advanced as well, snagging second place.
Grammel gained another podium visit in the 800, her third consecutive top-two finish in the event.
In the field, senior Khloe Dubenion was phenomenal yet again, stealing a victory in the discus with an astounding 120-foot, 10-inch throw.
With the stellar performance, CA has punched a ticket to the state meet on Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2 at Ohio State University.
