With busy schedules and daily distractions, it can sometimes be easy to take our faculty and staff at Academy for granted. From helping us with our learning to making us better citizens, Academy’s wonderful teachers, coaches, staff, and administrators are the foundation of our community. To recognize our leaders, the Service Board leads an annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day (FSAD). 

This year’s day of gratitude fell on Wednesday, February 21. Teachers received gifts containing their favorite candies, as well as some cookies. These treats were a small but significant token of thanks from the students. The day’s main event was a luncheon organized by the Service Board. Here the faculty and staff were treated to an entire meal, dedicated solely to them.

Perhaps the most significant part of the day, however, was the delivery of thank-you notes to the teachers. Written by students, these notes had been collected for over a week leading up to the event. They allowed us to personally show our appreciation for the teachers and staff that make Academy so special.

With the Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day having concluded, it is crucial that we continue to show our gratitude toward teachers, staff, coaches, and administrators during throughout the school year. Not only do they help us learn, but they are the mentors and positive role-models that we need in our lives. On behalf of all students, we would like to thank Academy’s faculty and staff for everything that you do for us. This community could never be the same without you.
