After a strong finish in the District tournament last year, Academy’s wrestlers were ready to pick up where they left off. Under the leadership of senior captains Carson Nichols, Josh Pearson, and Angus Soderberg —along with the guidance of Coach Bukky—the Vikes are ready for a great season.

The Vikings competed in their first meet of the season, the Desales Classic, on Saturday, December 2. There were 10 teams competing at the Vikes’ first meet, and although Academy did not place as a team, it achieved stunning individual results. Phillip Soderberg’20 placed 5th in his weight class, Thomas Jones’19 placed 4th, and Angus Soderberg’18 placed 2nd.

The Vikings will travel to Hamilton Township on Thursday, December 7, for their next match.
