Google announced its newest phone to rival Apple’s iPhone 8 and iPhone X: the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL on October 4.

The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL boast 2700 mAH and 3520 mAH batteries respectively, and a 7-hour battery life with 15 minutes of charge. Their battery lives are further improved with the efficiency of Android’s newest OS, Oreo.

Both models have an 8MP front camera and a 12Mp rear camera, with the front camera able to take 1080p videos and the rear 4k videos. Along with high quality pictures comes unlimited online storage for pictures and videos.

Unlike the previous generation Pixel, these new models do not have headphone jacks yet are water and dust resistant. To listen to music privately, users must use wireless headphones or earbuds or buy an adapter.

Screen issues as burn-ins and “ black smears,” for the XL have been reported, however. Burn-ins are lingering after-images on a screen when it shows one thing for a long period of time: a common problem for OLED screens. “Black smears” are black parts of the screen lingering after moving the around screen. Google says it is working on these problems and offering a two-year warranty for both models.

At $649. and $849, their prices are higher than their previous generations, but they are straight upgrades and are worthy competitors of Apple’s new phones.
