With just two matches, the Columbus Academy girls volleyball team looked to capitalize on its light schedule.
On Tuesday, September 26, the Vikes took on the Grove City Christian at home in a non-league game.
Academy traded the first two sets with the Eagles. After dropping the third set, the Vikings fought back to tie the match at two sets apiece. Despite a great attempt to win the fifth set, CA came up just short and suffered the loss, 3-2.
On Thursday, September 28, the Vikes traveled to face Worthington Christian, who beat Academy in three sets in their meeting earlier in the year.
Knowing it would be a tough match, the Vikings came in with sharp focus. But CA’s best efforts were no match for a talented Warriors, who continued their success against the Vikes with another victory in straight sets.
Academy will look to bounce back as they face Patriot Academy on the road on Monday, October 2, host Whitehall on Tuesday, October 3, and travel to London on Thursday, October 5.
