The Columbus Academy girls volleyball team took the court against Worthington Christian on Tuesday, September 5, in pursuit of its fourth win of the season.
The Vikings did not get off to the start they were looking for, as Worthington Christian grabbed the first set handily.
Academy fought back, but it failed to finds its rhythm in the second set. Facing a 0-2 deficit, the Vikes made multiple substitutions.
The third set was a battle between the Vikings and Warriors, as Academy tried desperately to dig itself out of its hole.
But the Vikes could not force a fourth set, and Worthington Christian picked up the win in straight sets.
On Saturday, September 9, The Vikings traveled to Whitehall for a match against the Rams.
Again, the Vikings failed to find their comfort zone during the match.
Whitehall made quick work of CA in the first two sets, but the Vikes would not be shut out twice in one week.
With i’s back against the wall, Academy flipped the switch and won the third set. But, it was too little too late for the Vikes, as they eventually fell in four sets.
CA has dropped their first two leagues of the season and have an uphill challenge heading into their next few matches.
Academy looks to end this skid on Tuesday, September 12 at home against London and in a tri-match on Saturday, September 16.
