Academy’s girls soccer team hoped to improve on its regional semifinal berth last season, despite the loss of key its senior contributors. The team first quest was at the regional tournament at home against Johnstown-Monroe on Thursday, August 24. 

Despite a strong performance from the Johnnies, the Vikes came away with a 3-1 victory, with goals from seniors Tori Abell and Apsara Som. Olivia Archibald’21 also scored for Academy. 

The Vikes looked to get another win, hosting Central Crossing on August 26, but fell 0-2 to a talented Comets team.

The girls hopes to push their record to 2-1 at Bishop Rosecrans on August 30 at 7PM.
