To honor students and faculty who have passed away while in the process of learning or teaching at Academy, a designated garden has been created to ensure they will not be forgotten.
Located in the Lazarus Courtyard, Academy’s Memorial Garden presently features a series of grass shrubs among fifteen people, who are recognized on plaques, with two dating back to the 1950’s.
Erich Hunker’81, the Assistant Head of School for Development/External Relations, explained the aim of placing the garden in the Lazarus Courtyard was to make sure it was integrated into the heart of our new campus space.
The garden is open to the community and the families of the loved ones.
