On Monday, May 15, Academy was half empty. The seniors were out of school, working on their senior projects, and the juniors spent their day at Kings Island.
The trip was organized and chaperoned by multiple teachers, including Dr. Heintzelman, Mr. Leet, and Mr. DeVore. The purpose of the trip was to not only take a break from the busy junior curriculum, but also to get some hands on experience on physics.
Juniors embarked on Diamondback, Banshee, the beast, and Mystic Timbers. Afterwards, they had to complete a packet about the physics of the rides.
“We were able to combine lots of different units like circular motion, kinematics, and force fields as well,” says Christopher Heermann. “In general, it was just being able to relax again with all my friends, going on the rides.”
