In its only match this past week, the Columbus Academy boys tennis team defeated Worthington Christian on Wednesday, April 12. It was a runaway for the Vikes, as they won 5-0.
In first singles, Austin Lawrence’17 breezed his way to an easy 6-1, 6-2 victory.
In second singles, senior Eric Min defeated Chris Tsibouris’17 of the Warriors 6-1, 6-3.
Senior Michael Qi beat Ajai Smith’18, only conceding one game in a 6-0, 6-1 win in third singles
In first doubles, Sid Menon’17 and Drew Haffer’19 were too much for their rivals, winning 6-0, 6-2.
Sam Vogel’18 and Rhian Seneviratne’20 defeated their adversaries easily, in second doubles, only allowing Worthington to win two games. The final score was 6-0, 6-2.
This victory raised the team’s record to 4-1.
The Thursday, April 13th match has been reschedule to May 8th.
The Vikings play Thomas Worthington at home on Monday, April 17.
