The girls lacrosse team snagged its first win of the season against Olentangy Orange on Saturday April 1.
After weeks of practice and a pre-season training camp, the girls were ready to take on their first challenge. With an 11-5 win, the team is off to a promising start.
Sophomores Lexi Leader, Tani Obikunle, and Avie Smith put away eight of the eleven goals, with Sarah Belford’18 and Michelle Daoud’17 adding to the rest.
The defense had a tremendous game. In the second half, Shenique Penney’18 and seniors Natalie L’Hommedieu, Karina Walter, and Yani Taylor’17 held off their opponents until the last 2 minutes of the game when Olentangy Orange snuck one more shot passed goalie Kelley Antoine’18.
The team plays Granville onTuesday April 4, and Bishop Hartley on Saturday April 8.
