Excitement built among the girls soccer team on Wednesday, October 5. Friendly supporters with wishes of “good luck” greeted the girls in the halls as the Senior Night showdown loomed against with Bexley.

Bexley started strong, taking a 1-0 lead of a penalty kick, but the Vikings knew they were still in the game.

Senior Sophie Krings responded with a goal off a free-kick from outside the box, the ball sailing over the goalkeeper’s hands and into the net.

The contest ended in a 1-1 tie, with both teams struggling to capitalize on opportunities. Some players felt this was a loss because of a Senior Night tie. Others were happy to survive.

The hype surrounding a Senior Night rivalry, nevertheless, made for a memorable, physical battle.
