Cross country finished its season Saturday, October 31, after competing in regionals at Pickerington North. The girls placed 12th out of 21 teams, with 269 points, and the boys placed 17th out of 32, with 474 points.

Junior captain Claire C. said, “Pickerington North is always a great course where a lot of runners PR and overall do a great job, and that was definitely reflected yesterday with the times. The one downside was that the meet was pretty late this year, so it was a bit on the warmer side and quite dry, but everyone still did an amazing job.” Runners Maryam C., Luke K., Julia M., Kate W., and Ryan W. beat their personal records.

Despite the bittersweetness of a season ending, Claire said, “This season was so much fun, and it was really great to hang out with the team. I’m so grateful for all the girls who are on the team, and it’s just so fun together. One of my favorite memories was when we made hair ribbons together for us to wear on race days.”

While this season is in the books, the team’s ambition remains as they look toward the 2027 season.

“As always,” Claire added, “our goal is to make it all the way to states!”
