Vikes Pep to Beat Bexley

On Friday, September 25, seniors walked in hand with their K-Buddies, to Academy’s pep rally to exhilarate our community and take down the Lions. Instead of heading to the Mack Gym (currently under construction), we met on Hondros, where we stomped on the bleachers in harmony with the band.

The rally started with Vlad, Anthony P., and Vicky’s Kendall O. and Harper B. hyping up the already rambunctious crowd.

The rally was Mario-themed, taking many cues from popular Mario games. The first game was Mario Kart Relay, where teams of two upper schoolers and one lower schooler raced towards victory. ChiChi N., Daria G., and Peyton T.; Ishaan V., Charlotte K., and Eli C.; Amari P., Josie M., and Violet B.; and Joshua D., Owen L., and Jonah M. went head-to-head in an exciting race.

Next, a group of teachers dueled against Michael T., Ray P., and two middle and two lower schoolers in a game of tug-of-war, with the students ultimately steaming past faculty for the win.

The rally concluded with a game of Pool Noodle Hockey, with students battling against each other. Team Bexley allowed two unanswered goals before it scored a goal, tightening the game. In the end, Team Bexley was downed, and the Vikings reigned.

“Seeing everyone get together for a community event really warmed my heart. The atmosphere and energy made it very enjoyable for my friends and me,” said Rehan A., a hockey participant.

Pep rallies nunify our community and create an electrifying atmosphere, as Vikings from all divisions and beyond our campus came together and enjoyed the ambience at the Charlie David dinner later in the evening.

Vikings in the stands channeled the same energy throughout the game, as the football team clinched a 20-0 victory on the gridiron against the Bexley Lions.
