Last week, Academy’s boys soccer team bore mixed results, falling 3-0 to the Bexley Lions, then quickly rebounding to deliver a 4-0 shutout victory against the Highland Fighting Scots.

On Wednesday, September 23, the Vikings faced one of their most competitive matchups of the season, hosting the rival Bexley Lions, who entered the matchup ranked 3rd in the conference with a 6-5-1 conference record. Despite excitement for the game drawing a large crowd of Vikings, the boys were unable to hold off the Lions’ attack, ending the game in a 3-0 loss.

The Vikings then took on Highland Saturday, September 26, in a non-conference matchup against the Fighting Scots, who owned a shaky 5-5-2 record on the season. This home game fared better than the Vikings’ last, scoring one goal in the first half and breaking through to find the net three more times before the end of the match to secure a 4-0 victory.

On Monday at 7:00 p.m., the Boys from Hondros will face off against the Franklin Heights Falcons for a conference match before travelling Wednesday night to battle the 8-3-1 Grandview Heights Bobcats for the number two spot in the conference rankings.
