The girls volleyball team spiked into this week with a strong 3-0 victory over Grandview Heights on Tuesday, September 15, before facing one of its toughest challenges yet against the number one ranked team in the CBL, Bishop Ready, the following day. Senior captain Kyndal Singleton commented on the Grandview win, stating, “The win gave our team the exact amount of momentum and confidence we needed after last week’s performance.” The team had faced challenging competition the week prior, in a hard matchup against Buckeye Valley and a close loss against Bexley, falling short 3-2.

The victory over Grandview was a “turning point for the team’s confidence,” according to Kyndal. Historically, Academy has dominated Grandview on the volleyball courts, crushing the Bobcats in a 3-0 sweep the season before. As the team prepares to face Whitehall-Yearling on September 19, we can expect a dominating lead for the Vikings and some additional points on the CBL leaderboard.
