The girls cross country team fought for the second-place spot on September 5, when they competed in an invitational at Highland High School. They earned 104 points in total.

Runners Claire C., Claire H., Livia P., Maryam C., and Julia M. placed in the top 35 in the race, with 121 participants overall. “Since it’s still early on in the season, we go out there and do our best,” said Junior Captain Claire C., “And it is important to acknowledge that there are many meets left in the season to improve.”

Girls cross country is coming off of a strong season, having made it to states in 2025. Claire said, “It would be amazing if we were able to make it there again this year.”

Until then, the Vikes will host a home meet this Saturday, on September 19.
