Baseball honored its seniors, Tyler A., Nolen C., Hayes D., Dominic D., Grant L., Cooper L., and Jameson R., on Monday, May 4, before a league game against Bishop Ready. The game followed the Vikes usual trajectory this season: either winning or losing by large margins with few close games. The Silver Knights toppled the Vikings 7-1 for a Senior Night defeat.

The Vikes reversed their performance from Monday’s loss, this time dominating Bishop Ready 14-0 on Friday, May 8, by stealing the momentum right off the bat, scoring 4 runs in the first inning. The offensive explosion continued as Academy eventually secured a 14-0 mercy-rule victory.

For its final game of the week, Academy lost a  2-1 game against St. Charles on Saturday, May 9. Each team teetered at 10-10 heading into the game, but the Cardinals edged out the Vikings for the win. This loss puts Academy at 10-11 for the season, with extreme wins and losses throughout.

As the boys head into postseason on a high note, they will travel to Delaware Hayes on Monday, May 11, to face off against the Pacers, and will host Bishop Watterson on Thursday, May 14, and Granville on Friday, May 15.
